Briana was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated from The Colorado Institute of Art – Denver. She has worked in a variety of positions from marketing, photography, communications and even banking. She moved to Indiana in 2000 and has lived in Hendricks county since. She likes the feel of a small town and is looking forward to being a part of this growing team.
Her husband works in the racing world so they are often at a race track or watching it on tv. Their daughter, Lila, is involved in softball, gymnastics and starting music lessons soon. This keeps them busy but when there is a free weekend the family likes to go hiking or camping with their 3 dogs.
Briana said, “I’m excited for this opportunity. Being the Director of Communications and Special Projects for Pittsboro Parks Department is going to give me the chance to have a hand in helping make this place even better.”

Scott is a lifelong Hendricks County resident and he and his wife moved to Pittsboro in 2005. He has a 20-year career managing events across the country ranging from press conferences, meet and greets, and fan festival events with popular celebrities in the racing industry. He is excited to work in a tight-knit community and bring quality park programming to the residents.
His family is heavily involved in youth sports and they can often be found at local baseball, basketball or football fields watching their son Connor and daughter Paige take part in a wide range of sports.
He is a huge fan of Walt Disney and his family goes annually to Florida to visit Magic Kingdom. He also has a dedicated Lego collection and usually has at least one project in the works year-round.
“I’m thrilled to take this position of Director of Recreation with the Pittsboro Parks Department,” Smith said. “As our town continues to grow and expand, we look to breathe new life into a department that is poised for tremendous growth.”

Bev has been part of the Park Assistant team for over ten years. She enjoys decorating the park for holidays, taking care of the flowers, opening and closing the park daily, as well as cleaning the buildings following special event rentals. Bev’s favorite thing about Pittsboro are the people who live here.

Jeff has been on the park board since 2014. He wants to dedicate this time to the parks because he remembers playing baseball as a child, and wants others to be able to build those same memories in the park. This is the only hometown he knows and wouldn’t want to live any other place. Jeff enjoys his job in maintenance for the post office, and has dedicated 31 years to the military. In his free time, he enjoys beekeeping.

She loves the way the community supports each other in times of need. She enjoys reading, walking/hiking in local parks, and cooking and baking.

Andy has been on the board since April 2018. Andy has worked several years for the Washington Township parks and loves each of the parks within Hendricks County, so he felt like serving on the local Pittsboro Parks Board was a natural next step. He loves Pittsboro’s “small town” feel and easy access to the nearby city, and feels grateful for the feelings of safety walking our streets and trails and the sense of belonging and community he feels amongst residents as he takes his daily walks.

Jon has been on the board since May 2018. He moved here in 2013, and ever since then, has wanted to help make Pittsboro a place where people would want to come and raise their families. He believes that having nice parks with ample activities for kids and families is a great way to help make a great small town a place people want to stay. Jon grew up in a small town in Kentucky and moving here is reminiscent of his memories of that small town before it exploded in growth. Jon enjoys golfing, baseball, and camping with his family.

Cindy joined the board in 2019. She has many fond memories of enjoying activities in the park with her three children and hopes to grow the parks for families to enjoy in the future. She loves how family focused Pittsboro is and how the community pulls together to support one another. She enjoys reading, movies, traveling, and wine tasting.
William Nickrand

William joined the park board in April of 2019. He chose to serve on the board because he loves this community and is a huge advocate for healthy living. As a pastor of a local congregation, he wants to support, encourage, and serve his community in any way possible. After living in many communities, he feels this is one of the most welcoming, kind and caring communities he’s ever lived in and is proud to be raising his children here. William enjoys bicycling, running, swimming, and just about anything active, as well as “geek culture” such as Pokemon GO. He also enjoys traveling and stand up comedy.
